A solution to your child’s potty problems

The whole family suffers when a child experiences difficulty toileting or extended potty training problems. It’s embarrassing for them, frustrating for you, and can affect their healthy development. Fortunately, it’s often a pelvic floor issue that can be
addressed with proper pelvic floor therapy.

We work closely with your child’s medical providers and strive to create a fun, supportive environment so children of any age can enjoy a healthy, normal childhood without causing strain on their families.

Experience Matters

Our pediatric pelvic Physical Therapists have spent years working with children in a safe and productive way to put them back on a normal and healthy developmental path.

In Addition To Pelvic Health, We Can Help Your Child With:

Sensory Processing Disorders

Sensory processing disorders in children refer to the inability of the nervous system to receive and appropriately respond to sensory information. This can result in overreacting or underreacting to stimuli, leading to challenges with daily activities. With proper treatment, children with these disorders can learn to understand and better gauge their responses and improve their quality of life.

Developmental Delays

Developmental delays in children can affect their ability to reach important milestones such as crawling, walking, talking, and higher motor functions. Physical therapy can be an effective treatment option for children with developmental delays, as it can help improve motor skills, strength, and coordination. Through targeted exercises and activities, our physical therapists work with these kiddos to help them reach their full potential and achieve their developmental goals.

Nervous System

Physical therapy for nervous system disorders uses exercises and specific techniques to improve mobility, strength, and function. Common conditions include tethered cord, spina bifida, autism, and cerebral palsy. Therapy can help manage symptoms, enhance quality of life, and prevent complications.

Biofeedack

Biofeedback is a technique used in pelvic floor therapy to help our patients learn how to use their muscles correctly to gain or regain bowel and bladder control. With pediatric therapy it is mostly used to learn control of muscle tension of the GI/GU tracts to help with abdominal and bowel/bladder control. This is done by using sensors that provide real-time feedback on these functions, allowing patients to adjust their behavior and achieve better control.

Functional Constipation

Chronic constipation and functional constipation are common in children and can cause discomfort, frustration, and toileting challenges. Our therapists use gentle techniques, biofeedback, and exercises to address these issues, helping kids achieve regular, pain-free bowel movements and reducing stress for the whole family.

GI System Dysfunction

Pelvic floor therapy for gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction targets conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), abdominal pain, and Hirschsprung’s Disease. Using tailored exercises and methods, we improve GI function, reduce pain, and support your child’s overall health and comfort.

Real-Time Ultrasound

Real-time ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body’s internal structures. In pelvic floor therapy, real-time ultrasound can be used to assess muscle activation and bladder volume to provide visual feedback to help children learn how to properly activate their muscles during exercises. This can be particularly helpful for children with neuromuscular conditions or GI/GU dysfunction.
